Reiki + Your Energy

A safe place to begin the journey back to self.

Reiki is often described as energy work, but I think it helps to start even simpler than that.

You are already having an energetic experience every day.

You notice when a room feels heavy.
You notice when someone’s presence settles you.
You notice when your chest tightens, your stomach drops, your shoulders rise, or your whole body softens.

Your body is constantly receiving information.

Sometimes we call it stress. Sometimes intuition. Sometimes activation. Sometimes exhaustion. Sometimes we just know that something feels off.

Reiki offers a quiet space to begin noticing.

Not fixing.
Not forcing.
Not performing.

Just noticing.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on or hands-near energy-based practice intended to support relaxation, stillness, and self-awareness.

During a session, you remain fully clothed and rest comfortably while Reiki is offered in a calm environment.

People experience sessions differently. You might notice warmth, tingling, heaviness, emotion, deep relaxation, mental quiet, or very little at all.

There is no “right” way to experience Reiki.

You do not need to believe anything specific for the session to be meaningful.

What Do We Mean by Energy?

The word energy can mean different things depending on the context.

In everyday life, we use it constantly:

“I don’t have the energy today.”
“That conversation drained me.”
“I feel lighter.”
“Something about that person feels calming.”
“I can feel tension in my body.”

At The Soul School, energy awareness is an invitation to become more curious about what your body is already communicating.

Where do you feel open?

Where do you brace?

What happens to your breathing around certain people?

Where do you carry tension?

When do you feel most like yourself?

The goal is not to become obsessed with every sensation.

It is to build a relationship with yourself.

Your Body Is Giving You Information

Many of us become very skilled at overriding ourselves.

We push through exhaustion.
Ignore discomfort.
Stay quiet when we want to speak.
Say yes when our whole body is saying no.
Keep moving because stopping feels unfamiliar.

Over time, it can become difficult to know what we actually need.

Reiki creates a pause.

And sometimes a pause is where awareness begins.

What Might a Session Support?

I offer Reiki as a restorative wellness practice and a space for:

slowing down

relaxation

grounding

reflection

reconnecting with your body

creating space around stress

noticing emotions without immediately reacting to them

simply receiving instead of always doing

Reiki is not a replacement for medical or mental-health care, and I do not use it to diagnose or promise specific outcomes.

For me, its value is in creating space.

I Don’t Want You Dependent on Me

One of the things I care about most is helping people understand that they already have access to themselves.

A session with me is not about giving me authority over your body, your intuition, or your healing.

It is about creating enough quiet that you may begin hearing yourself more clearly.

I want you to leave with tools you can actually use.

Begin Noticing Your Own Energy

You can start right now.

Put both feet on the floor.

Take a slow breath.

Without trying to change anything, notice:

What do I feel in my body right now?

Is there tension?

Warmth?

Heaviness?

Restlessness?

Ease?

Now ask:

What might I need?

Not what should I do.

Not what would make everyone else comfortable.

What do I need?

Maybe the answer is rest.

Movement.

Food.

Water.

A boundary.

A cry.

A walk.

Silence.

Connection.

You do not have to solve everything.

You are simply learning to listen.

A Safe Place to Begin

You do not need to arrive calm.

You do not need to understand Reiki.

You do not need to be spiritual.

You do not need to have yourself figured out.

You can arrive exactly as you are.

My role is to offer a safe, grounded space where you can slow down, receive, notice, and begin reconnecting with yourself.

A journey back to self does not begin with becoming someone new.

Sometimes it begins with finally listening to the person who has been there all along.
